It’s always exiting when I get to speak with someone who has decided to change careers. Today, I got a call from a lovely woman who was in of all things the automotive industry. She had spent the past 15 years working in the Human Resource Department and after she turned 40, she wondered, “What if I was to do what I wanted for a living?” She confided that she simply couldn’t imagine entering into the next phase of her life and not doing a job she loved.

After some research (she googled cool jobs) she came upon us and the Matchmaking Industry. As I talked with her, it was so fun to hear the passion and enthusiasm in her voice. She talked about how she always had an interest in love and relationships and had been the one to fix up her friends for years. But, she had just never considered she may be able to turn it into a livelihood. After we chatted for awhile, she decided that she was heading in the right direction, but that she felt a little scared. I reminded her that change is supposed to feel a little scary. I told her that when you move beyond your comfort zone, you always feel a little uncomfortable and that’s usually where all the reward is. The truth is that there is a very fine line separating the feeling of being scared from the feeling of being excited and the fine line is defined by what you choose to focus on.

I’m happy to say that she chose to move forward with her dreams and we can’t wait to be a part of her journey!
